Pain has degrees and discomfort. According to Webster--Pain is localized or generalized unpleasant bodily sensation or complex of sensations that causes mild to severe physical discomfort and emotional distress and typically results from bodily disorder (such as injury or disease).
Does Pain Have a Voice?
No. Sometimes pain purports and provokes us to give it a voice; however, pain cannot speak. You can hurt so bad that it feels like pain is screaming, but it cannot speak. When we are in pain, are we solely focused on the pain? If so--it can become an idol if you are thinking on it more than on God. Very recently pain heightened in my body to the degree that I gave it a voice--a loud voice at times.
The Voice of Choice
God gave us voices and the choices to select words to any given circumstance, condition, or situation. In Luke 17:11-19 the story of the Ten Lepers is recorded. Verses 15-16 reads:
"And one of them, when he saw that he was healed,
returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and
fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks."
Above in verse 14 it reads, "As they went they were cleansed." As you may know, lepers acquire open sores on their skin--which were painful! It is not written how they responded to this pain in their private quarters. One can only assume the layers of pain they sustained as a result of this horrible disease. In verse 13 they desired mercy from the Maker of man...these are the words they choice as "they lifted up their voices and said 'Jesus, Master, have mercy on us'!"
Pivot in the Pain
Posture changed He returned to Jesus
Praised Jesus with a loud voice—he glorified God
Positioned himself to worship God: fell down on his face at His feet
Praised Jesus by giving Him thanks!
WE MUST LEARN HOW TO Pivot in THE Pain—HOW???
It is hard to pivot in pain when FEAR IS THE DRIVER.
F False
E Evidence
A Appearing
R Real
When I was in this continuous, excruciating pain I made the mistake of giving in to the father of pain: Fear. With fear in the driver's seat the pain was controlling my life. A friend called to check on me and shared two scriptures; I focused on Luke 9:1. "Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases." It sobered me up to realize that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ and I have power and authority to cure diseases. He took me to Luke 17: 11-19 and I discovered that 10 lepers were cleansed/healed, but only 1 was made well--which means, to save, heal, preserve, save, make well. In the same verse, KJV reads "...thy faith hath made thee whole." The NKJV read "made well." However, the word whole here means the same as made well.
Jesus gave us the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven. I never realized that using words to glorify fear over and over again caused me to give my keys/authority over to fear. So, fear was in the front seat of my car driving me around and around...until I sobered up. I realized that that Samaritan man had no covenant with the Holy One, yet he called Him--Jesus, Master. How much more would Jesus, my Master hear my voice. In this revelation, I realized that my worship was turned down low. I raised the volume of my worship with LOUD and soft and LOUD words of adoration! The next day the pain began to subside.
There is a place and posture of worship where one surrenders all to God, communes with God, breaks open the alabaster box of worship, and falls at His feet to lavish your love upon Him. The One Who saved, raised, and multiplied your life.
How will you pivot in pain the next time the attack comes?

My last post was two months ago. Why? You may ask, "where have you been?" A health issue overwhelmed me, a sudden step down from previous assignment as Executive Director of Almsprings Food Basket (AFB), and a tragic, sudden death of a niece--caused a sinking into despair and depression.
I sought and longed for the Light; He heard my cries and answered. He is always right next to you and I--and waiting on us. Sometimes He comes to you with refreshment and encouragement of His Word. Jesus said it this way, "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you" (John 14:26, NKJV). Jesus promised to His followers that Holy Spirit would come to refresh our memories of the Word of God (the Word which we have read or heard spoken). He comes right where you are. It does not matter where you are.
If you are a believer in Christ, you are never alone. Will you open the doors of your heart and soul to let Him in? I did...Scripture by Scripture--with tears in my eyes--I followed the Light in order to leave the tunnel of darkness. You see, there was a personal grieving over AFB; for it was my baby so to speak. A ministry God gave me and I served His people for four years--but, it was time to let go or step down. I also experienced family grief for my niece. It is alright to mourn, for He comforts us (Matt. 5:4); however, we must not allow grief to consume us.
Holding on to something when the season is over, hinders one from going and growing into what God has ordained and planned. Think of it this way: What if Jesus held on to life on this earth? Exactly. Jesus experienced dark times and descended into lower parts of the earth (Eph. 4:9); He also ascended on high that He might fill all things, and He gave gifts to His Bride. (Eph. 4:10-11). I accept this new ministry of professional coaching others who are stuck and need Koach Kim to come alongside to help them relocate to a desired destination. Whether it is a personal, professional, or spiritual goal--With Holy Spirit as my guide--we can transform your circumstances into solutions that you discover in the co-creative coaching relationship!
Wherever you are, allow the Light inside of your soul. Remember: All living creations need Light to survive--All. Let's follow the example of the trees, plants, and flowers and stretch our hands up toward the Father of Lights today!
Where are you today?

How did Jesus become a well of living water for thirsties to partake? From the beginning, Jesus was with God and existed as God (John 1:1). Metaphorically, throughout scripture Jesus has been called Bread, Life, Light, Vine, Living Water, and many more. All of these substances are necessary vitals of life, which maintain the beating of the heart. Imagine life without food, light, and water.
Just as we need all of the above to live; we cannot live an optimal life without Jesus. While on earth, Jesus made a habit of hanging out with His Father alone via the vehicle of prayer. Could this be the link to Jesus' power on earth? All four gospels mention Father God; however, John exceeded them all. He recorded Jesus repeatedly noting the intimate relationship with His Father, but the hearers did not take Jesus' words seriously. For example,
My Father gives you the true bread from heaven (6:32).
No one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father (6:65).
For I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me (8:16).
I speak what I have seen with My Father (8:38).
I and My Father are one (10:30).
Clearly, Jesus and Father God are bound together as One. Jesus prayed that we too could become united to them as One, if we would only believe (Jn. 17:20-21). You may find it hard to believe me, but these are His words not mine. In fact, the word believe is mentioned 98 times in the gospel of John.
Could it be that simple? Yes. With you asking Jesus to live inside of you started the entire process of oneness. Now...build from there by hanging out with Jesus to flow and grow into a tall, cool drink of water for others to partake.
"But, Koach Kim I never asked Jesus to come live in my heart."
No problem, repeat after me.
Dear Jesus,
I am a sinner. Please forgive me for all my sins.
I confess with my mouth that You are my Lord and
I believe in my heart that God
raised You from the dead; therefore, I am saved.
Please come and live in my heart and be my Savior.
My friend, it is just that simple...as simple as you believing that the chair behind you is there and will hold you when you sit down. Congratulations! Welcome to the family of heaven. Now you can partake of the Oneness, the Unity between Jesus and Our Father.
Remember, prayer is the conduit to your continual connectedness to Jesus!

The Well of Living Water?
Are you drinkable? Would someone want to drink from your well?
It may depend on where your fountain or drinking Source is located. Did your mind travel to Sychar where the woman of Samaria lived? In order to survive she walked to the location of the well, in the heat of the day to quench her thirst; and to meet the ultimate Flow-er of water to change her life.
Jesus transformed Himself physically into a tall glass of spiritual substance, in which she could partake of to satisfy her soul. Her appetite changed when she met the Thirst Quencher. In listening to Him, she believed in Him when He said:
"But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting" (John 4:14, NKJV).
You see, believing is drinking or swallowing the Truth! It is imperative that you watch your thinking and drinking because you cannot partake everywhere and with everyone. Do you believe this? Remember when the disciples came back from shopping for food? They offered Him food, yet Jesus had already ate--His soul was satisfied. Jesus described His meal in this way: "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work" (John 4:34). Interestingly, the woman drank from the Well of Life and left immediately to do the will of the Father by spreading the Gospel into the city to evangelize or tell her story.
Typically, when we find a great restaurant, we tell people about the food, service, and ambience; all this is okay; however, we must not forget to tell people about the meal you ate with Jesus during communion earlier that morning. Do the will of the Father--finish His work.
What hinders you from sharing His-Story?

Why name a Blog: Flow and Grow?
My first answer is because it came to me from a heavenly, reliable Source. Sure the words are catchy and rhyme; yet, there is an important landscape of learning behind the words. Take the word flow and its meaning from Strong's Concordance: to drip or shed by trickling:--flood, flowing out; to gush, pour, stream, running water.
These defining words are found in Psalm 147:18,
"He sends out His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow."
Look at the first part--He sends out His word and melts them. The inter-texture of this verse requires looking at another verse to receive the defining pieces of bringing clarity to interpreting this verse: Job 37:10.
"By the breath of God ice is given, And the broad waters are frozen."
What a powerful God we serve! Since by a breath He creates ice, it stands to reason He can melt His words. Both are substances and manifestations of water, which indicates fluid in a certain state. It depends on how God wants to use it. Will you allow Him to transform your state of being into a matter of a flowing substance? Imagine yourself as a tall glass of water in which one may drink of. What would they consume? Do you have the Word of God living inside of you?
This is a series to introduce our readers to our blog: Flow and Grow. Stay tuned for more upcoming posts to help you flow and grow.

Adapted from Christian Coaching, Gary R. Collins, Ph.D
Discovering and developing passions
You may or may not think you have any passion, but you do. Sometimes the company one keeps is the problem. If your friends or acquaintances are not supporting you, it may be time to choose some new friends. True friends support each other, not the opposite. A Christian coach listens and encourages.
Finding a life purpose
A Christian coach can help in this area by using the Bible to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Developing a mission statement
A mission statement is important as it points the way to why people are serving in your organization daily. It keeps you focused on the goals, dreams, and reasons you began the endeavor.
Building communication skills
Effective communication is key to relationship building and continuity. Many times the thoughts in your head do not come out the way you intended. By having an active listener to collaborate with, the problem can be solved in few or more sessions with a Christian coach who cares.
Getting unstuck, getting out of ruts, and moving forward
How many times have you tried to change a habit or try a new venture only to arrive back at square one? You are not the only one. Failure is not an option--you must get back on that horse; however, this time try trusting someone else to listen to your attempts, ask some questions to get you on track, and encourage you through the process.
Getting free of self-sabotaging behavior and destructive self-talk--the kind of talk, for example, that says, "I can't do it," "Things will never change," "Nobody will listen to me," "I'll never succeed, so why try!"
Again, you must get out of your head and back into the game of life. Push the green light, take a chance by engaging in a Christian coaching relationship.
Building self-confidence
According to Psychology Today, around 85% of the world's population experience low self-esteem, this includes teenagers and adults. The enemy wants you to dwell on the lie that you are the only one in the world who is suffering from this. You can be healed and delivered from this state of mind by the power of God. Believe and trust Him to help you.
Getting the courage to take risks
Research attributes that Albert Einstein said, Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. However, it should be accredited to a fictitious character in the 1993 novel Sudden Death by Rita Mae Brown. Do not be afraid to take a risk. Joyce Meyer encourages her followers to go for it, even if you are afraid. You may receive a successful outcome; yet, if you do not try it--you will never know. There are too many dreams buried in cementaries.
Having the ability to focus better, be more efficient, and reach goals more quickly
Many times when a new idea or vision comes to you, it's mulled and rolled over in your mind incessantly. A Christian coach can help you navigate through successfully by using biblical principles.
Developing a closer walk with God
When searching for a Christian coach, look for the three Es.
Experience - how long has the person been in relationship with God. Ask for references from their pastors or managers.
Expertise - ask for testimonials from previous clients, detailed successful coaching relationships, and how can they improve their coaching skills.
Enthusiasm - look for enthusiasm when you meet the potential Christian coach. You need a coach who will encourage and support you throughout the process.

Time seems to travel at a much faster pace in these days. Often times we do not accomplish all on the Things to Do List; which rolls over to the next day--and so on, and so on it continues. No doubt these things on the list are important to the author of the list. I have a couple of questions for you. Is prayer on the list? What is prayer?
Prayer is the key to communication with God; put simply, it is talking to God. Communication involves two people. Many times people forget this concept. How many of us get up and leave our secret place after we have asked God for what we want? This is so unfair to God. What if He had something to say? With this in mind, did communication or prayer really take place if both parties did not engage in conversation? Waiting is not easy and most people do like to wait; however, it must be cultivated when it involves getting to know the Creator of life. Take the following steps to move from disengagement to engaged communication with God.
Take a moment and jot down some reasons you might not pray.
Examine the reasons and decide if you will make talking to God a priority.
Simply ask for forgiveness.
Place prayer at the top of the Things to Do List.
When Jesus was teaching His followers to prayer, He chose the word, "when" rather than the word "if." Meaning, He expects us to pray. You might say, "but I do not know how to pray." And that is a valid statement. Speak from your heart as one might speak to a loved one. Why not begin with the words Jesus gave His followers.
Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us today the food we need, and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. And don't let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever: Amen.
Time is very precious and will not wait for you. Cease the moment. I challenge to keep a prayer journal so that you may reflect to see how much better your day goes, when you keep God first. Making time for God is sometimes sacrificial, but He will reward those who diligently seek Him--Wise men and women still seek Him.
