Thousands of years ago, the Most High God gave specific instructions to Moses for building or constructing a tabernacle to meet with Him. The word tabernacle means dwelling place, habitation, or tent; "tent of meeting" was another name for the tabernacle (Ex. 33:7). Within this meeting place an altar was designed intrically and specifically by God. The purpose existed in sacrificial offerings to the Lord for the remission of sin. Only the High Priest (Aaron) could enter the Most Holy Place to offer the blood of the sacrificial animals to the Lord (Heb. 9). Everything and each person associated with the ministry of the Tabernacle must be holy; for He is holy. God gave Moses this command: "And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation" (Ex. 19:6).
Now Jesus, the great High Priest, a descendant of Abraham and King David, carried His altar to Calvary; thereby making atonement for sin. The writer of Hebrews explains it this way:
"But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption" (Hebrews 9:11-12).
Moreover, Jesus was nailed to this altar and crucified for the sins of the entire world. As followers of Jesus we daily offer ourselves as living sacrifices as worship to God (Rom. 12:2). Jesus Himself, outlined the cost of following Him (discipleship) clearly in the Amplified Bible in Luke 9:23.
"And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also]." Of course this means spiritual death.
All of the above information is why we make altars or meeting places for people to sacrifice, meet, commune, listen to the Most High God. Some prefer to use as a tent, kneeler, or as a prostration pallet. We build all sizes to accommodate your height. Ultimately, we are anointed, called, and chosen by God to construct these anointed, artistic, and holy altars for you to have a tangible meeting place to commune with God.
Each person chooses how they will meet with God! When the LORD visited Abraham as an Angel, this is how Abram responded, "Then the LORD appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day. So he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground, and said, 'My Lord, if I have found favavor in Your sight, do not pass on by Your servant'" (Genesis 18:1-3).
